Balancing Roles: Embracing a New Career Adventure
After reading my astrological chart a couple of years ago, I better understood my work obsession. The astrologer told me that “You’re married to work”. Luckily, my husband is too. However, ever since I became a mom 15 years ago, I’ve had a secret dream of finding a job that wouldn’t consume my entire life and would allow me to be present for all my other roles — as a mother, a spouse, a friend, a sister, and more. And you know what? It’s finally happening! :)
My dream is coming true! I’m thrilled to announce that I’m now workign as a Fractional Startup Product & Design Leader. Drawing upon over two decades of expertise as a UX designer, seasoned product manager, and former entrepreneur, I stand ready to ignite the spark of innovation within early-stage startups, guiding them to re-risk their businesses and unveil groundbreaking solutions to the world.
After founding a B2B2C GovTech startup and experiencing failure, I became obsessed with Product Management and put aside my prior 10+ years of experience in UX Design. However, a pivotal moment occurred when I came across the book “Designing Your Life” (special thanks to Nella!). It sparked a revelation within me: Why should I limit myself to just one discipline? Why not seamlessly merge my skills in UX and PM? Setting my ego aside, I recognized my proficiency as both a designer and a product manager deeply passionate about problem-solving and product development. This newfound clarity has not only reinvigorated my professional purpose but also inspired me to assist early-stage startups by leveraging this dual expertise, all while striving for more balanced work-life dynamic.
I am grateful for the support of my incredible mentors, colleagues, and friends who have been with me throughout my career. Your guidance and encouragement have been invaluable, and I carry those lessons with me into this new adventure.
